The Social status of Yazd Zoroastrians from Constitutional Revolution until 1320
Abstract:   (2440 Views)
The city of Yazd was considered to be the main focus of Zoroastrian Iran in
the past, and most Zoroastrians lived in the city under a lot of social and
economic pressures. Since the rule of Nasser-al-Din Shah and with the efforts
of representatives of the Persian community of India, the Iranian
Zoroastrians gradually enjoyed more social rights, and some of them were
able to relate to the business of the city of Yazd, Get the right social. With the
victory of the Constitutional Revolution, and because of Zoroastrian financial
and political support for the movement, their situation in the community
improved and even reached the seat of the first assembly of the National
Assembly. The Zoroastrians used their political and economic influence to
improve their socioeconomic status and established many schools and social
and economic institutions in the cities of Iran, especially in Yazd. This trend
continued in a different way during the reza Shah Pahlavi era. The main issue
in this study is the study of the social and economic status of followers of this
religious minority in Yazd, between the Constitutional Revolution and the end
of the first Pahlavi period. In this research, it has been tried to examine
documents, books of memories, descriptive-analytical methods, Travelogues
and other sources and literature related to the subject area discussed.
The findings of this research indicate that the social and livelihood status of
Zoroastrians in Yazd has improved in the period between the Constitutional
